Making a dvd (or eff it, a VHS) with your friends is one of the funnest things you can do. Don’t worry about posting it online and submitting it to be judged by the savages that comment on The Come Up (like I did way back in 2006 when TCU was still a blogspot). Skip that part, and use the time you save by not uploading it to Vimeo to hang out with your friends, drink beers, and watch everyone cruise on your TV.

Friend of ITG, Lino Gonzalez sent me a copy of a video, called Wormscape, that he recently put together with his friends from the greater Wor(m)cester, Massachusetts area. It’s short and features excellent street riding from Mike Penney, Lino, Jesse Williams, Anthony Villani, Harold Harwood, Jake Gayewski, Abdul Fofanah and Carlos Rohena. If you know Lino you probably already have a copy. If not, you’ll probably never see it. And I love that.

So, start filming now and go right up until it’s too cold out, then post up at the comp and edit something together this December. Make like 50 copies, photocopy a cover, put it all together with some stickers, and give ‘em to all of your friends. Don’t worry too much about how it turns out. Toss a premiere at your local shop. You’ll have fun, I promise.

If you want to see the complete opposite of a homie video, someone uploaded Adidas’ Diagonal to the intanet. It’s really good, obviously. But is it fun? Eh. I’m gonna go watch Wormscape again and hit the hay.
