Riley Mcmaster sent over an email telling me about a little online zine he made from his trip across America this summer. The zine details the trip with some point and shoot snapshots and literally colorful commentary. It’s funny, light hearted and anything that involves driving around is pretty awesome in my book. Go check the zine out here and if you have a chance check out Gnarwhale here.

This is quite refreshing considering we live in a time when the exotic ledge has become the norm. A wise man once told me “Run what ya brung”.

I’ve seen this on about 4 million sites so if you’ve seen this, it’s not for you it’s for all the people I know who don’t look at other sites. Enjoy the last trick.
This is a friendly reminder to everyone that is infatuated with the news about BMX’s biggest company. BMX will go on. Somewhere there are kids riding wheelies barefoot through puddles who are catching the bug and guess what? Fit and Cult are things they’ve learned about in Gym Class and Social Studies. Do yourself a favor and stop worrying about all of the stupid details and get your roll on.
Dear Hungry Kids,
Cool it. Remove that trick list off your top tube and your grip tape and take a chill pill. Instead of spending hours at some place called a “compound” or “tf” go on a trip to a park with your friends and remember why you started doing this in the first place. Or don’t. In 2 years you’ll probably be fully enamored with cars and weed that you will forget about that bike or board in the corner of your garage anyway.
The Altamont Tour videos are a little much for me but if you have the time I definitely recommend watching the Theotis one. It’s no secret I’m a big fan of Theotis but after watching this I think I’m somehow an even bigger fan. And while it is very possible Theotis is candy coating some of the subjects he’s asked about, I can’t help but think he is sincere.
I thought he was going to break out on this one but like a true gentlemen he composed himself and described Doug Brown’s Nebula part as “creative”. You be the judge.

Apparently Surfing Magazine has been making trailers for each month’s magazines since February. I guess I missed the boat on that one but either way I think this is a really good way for magazines to incorporate video into their online content. Hire a videographer (or change one of the photographers to a videographer) and document the monthly magazine features. It’s an overly simple answer to a complicated question but I do have to say, this video got me psyched on the magazine.
