The Focus Magazine Trade Show in Philadelphia appears to have been an overwhelming success. Rounded up some video footage of the shindig. This first edit is from Andrew Cohen.
I’m glad that Chris Nieratko gets paid for writing and running shops, because he can’t film for shit. Here’s his footage from the Focus Trade Show mini-ramp contest.
On their recent Feast Tour, I (Chris Nieratko) caught up with the Flip team at Kerry Getz’s shop, Nocturnal in Philadelphia. I inquired about their new recruit, Andrew Langi (he’s Brazillian, right?), checked out the eating habits and paper crane skills of Curren Caples and got a status report about Ali Boulala from Geoff Rowley.
Video follow up to the trip that hit the mags earlier this year. One word, amazing.
via VBS Chris Nieratko and a crew of 17 skaters, wives, and assorted others sneak into Havana, Cuba with the sole intention of bringing skateboards to the children of the forbidden island. They basically barged the embargo with over 200 skateboards, 100 pairs of shoes and more skate product than most skate shops. Until that point Cuban skaters could not get new skateboards, so what was seen were war-torn, weather-beaten, flat spotted wheels, cracked trucks and long since dead boards held together by nails and reinforced with 2″×4″s. Their only chance for a new deck was a miracle and that’s exactly what they got when our selfless crew, led by Vice’s own staff writer, Chris Nieratko, showed up at their local skate park and handed out new boards for everyone.
After this footage of Cory Kennedy surfaced a little over a week ago, it apparently blew up the internet. Catching the attention of NJ Skateshop Owner/Vice/ESPN writer and new father Chris Nieratko who took upon himself to call Cory to get the inside scoop on the trick now dubbed the Merlin Twist.
