Memory Lane

Unless you are from Massachusetts and I handed you the sketchy home-burned DVD five years ago, you’ve probably never seen this. Five minutes of Boston-area BMX circa 2004 featuring me, Nick, Clint Reynolds, Snotty, Dan Burton, Brian Hunt, Mike Michaud, Brian Sheppard, Dave Boudreau, Doug Graham, Cliff Goddard, Kyle Amidon, Tony Long, Bernard Posner, Mike Ellis, and a young, pre-Johnny Thunders Albie Bennett.

Filmed in doo-doo vision.

Homie Videos

Making a dvd (or eff it, a VHS) with your friends is one of the funnest things you can do. Don’t worry about posting it online and submitting it to be judged by the savages that comment on The Come Up (like I did way back in 2006 when TCU was still a blogspot). Skip that part, and use the time you save by not uploading it to Vimeo to hang out with your friends, drink beers, and watch everyone cruise on your TV.

As a person, he was kind, funny, and really easygoing. Over the years, Lino continued to progress always doing his own thing. But everyone knows that. He’s still the same as ever, just a mellow, modest dude having fun on his bike. I recently caught up with Lino to find out what he’s been up to lately.

The Thing

itgthing002

UPDATE: Kevin Botsch sent me a photo of The Thing, it’s sick! Check it out below!

I had some really cool photos for this blog post, I swear. I thought the negatives were in one of my boxes but no dice. I couldn’t even find a photo on the web for it, not even on flickr, which in relation to the post is probably a good thing. This post is about the Infamous Wave or The Thing or whatever. It was a really popular spot in the early 00’s, when the popularity of riding weird transitions was at its highest.
