Catch up with Eric Koston over at Hypebeast and see what one of the best skaters in the world works on when he’s not skateboarding*. Eric talks about his design work for Oakley and photo shoot with Atiba Jefferson and Keiichi Nitta following the global launch event for his signature backpacks and limited edition sunglasses.
*Koston’s career has spanned well over two decades, but we won’t hold that against them…
There are some great photographs interspersed throughout a post on a BMX Museum forum. The kind of photographs your mom or dad took and then put in the family album. I know a lot of people still get their digital photos printed but for those who don’t, photo albums are going to be a relic of the past, which is pretty weird to think about. Regardless, you can check out some of my favorites below or just go visit the thread here.
Besides amazing surf photos, Mr. Bolster was also responsible for numerous other famous photographs (including the ones from the Carlsbad skatepark post). Click more to see some more of Bolster’s photographs.
Taking pictures of kids at skateboard demos is nothing new but I would be damned if it wasn’t still interesting in 2009. Michael Burnett is on the road with the Baker/Deathwish squad and has some absolute gems from their stops. Click here to check out the heartbeat of America in action. If Burnout isn’t on your web viewing radar, I would highly suggest it.
Mt. Baldy in photographs. I wanted to hit that place but it looks like I’ll have to wait until later on in the fall because it’s probably on fire and or 110 degrees. All of the photographs link back to the owners and if anyone sees this and doesn’t want the photo on there, you know where the email is.
You know when there’s a photo of a BMXer or skateboarder in a local newspaper, they always cut the ramp off. I guess it’s instinct to only focus on the subject, but you would think the photographer would know that showing where the subject was taking off from, would add much more depth. Seriously though, it’s like cutting off the ramp is an essential part of a a BMX or skate photo in a local newspaper.
